Music
Music plays a very important role in the lives of our pupils and teachers here in Burrane National School. All children from Junior Infants to Sixth class learn how to play the tinwhistle. Below are some of the activities we engage in to help develop and foster that love of music.
Seinn na Óg
Burrane National School, takes part in Seinn na Óg annually. This is an excellent opportunity to encourage our children to play, sing and dance in Church settings using our Irish Traditional Music. This year the Seinn na Nóg concert will be held in Kilrush Cathedral on the 31st May 2018 8 - 9:15pm
As well as singing the children of Burrane National school will play instruments such as the banjo, concertina , flute, violin and tinwhistle,
We are looking forward to the special night and if you wish to hear some of the tunes and songs we are learning please click on the following link. Seinn na Óg
Choir
Our pupils sing and play instruments in the Choir at our local church St. Imys Church on seasonal occasions and funerals during the year.
Music Thursday
Trad Session every Thursday on Senior Room where all the pupils bring their instruments and play various traditional tunes. Joe Searson was lucky enough to witness this excitement at his visit on the 26th November 2018. Well done Ms Kelly.
Christmas Concerts
Children perform at our annual concerts. This year all the children will be playing a piece on their tin whistle and are very excited about it. You are more than welcome to come along to see use singing and performing at our Christmas Concert on the 19th December.
